When your ad agency’s located right down the street from one of the best brewpubs in the area, you drink their beer a lot. Then, when you get that brewpub as a client and start helping them with packaging and promo materials for their burgeoning distribution business, you drink their beer even more. You know – for, um, “research.” And when that brewery asks you to rebuild their online experience from the ground up, man, you get really excited (and do even more “research”).

And though I was joking about research, we really did talk to a lot of craft beer enthusiasts before we began work on the site. We learned a ton about what makes them tick and found out how they want to interact with a craft beer brand. Much of that went into the Free State site.
We rebuilt freestatebrewing.com from the ground up, using HTML5 and a content management system that Free State employees can maintain themselves, allowing them to make frequent updates and add new content regularly.
Site visitors can watch videos from the brewmasters, who talk about how the beer is made and what makes it uniquely Free State. And if they want to talk beer, fans can also post questions on Facebook and Twitter that will be answered by the real folks who who make and sell Free State beer.
And since the restaurant side of the business is also wildly popular, visitors can view the menu, see daily specials and even put their names in for a table through the site.
