Who is Callahan Creek?
Topeka, Kansas, 1982: Sondra Busch and John Kuefler started a little agency called Admark. They had one client and one piece of equipment—an IBM Selectric typewriter. Unfortunately, they dropped the typewriter down the stairs when moving in to their new offices. The typewriter was kaput, but fortunately, the client stayed with us a little longer.
In 1996, Cindy Maude, one of the agency’s original clients and then later an employee, purchased the company with some big changes in mind. First she changed the name to Callahan Creek, and then she moved the business to downtown Lawrence, Kansas, to be closer to the thriving ad community of Kansas City.
Since then, so much about our business has changed, but the reason for our existence hasn’t. Callahan Creek was founded on a passion to develop big ideas and to make our clients successful. We are also driven to do both of those things in the highest quality way. We’ve always made our work way better than it has to be. Above the line, below the line—it’s never mattered, it’s just always been about making a positive difference in our clients’ businesses, in their lives and really, in the world in general.
Through it all, the foundation of who we are, how we live with one another and how we make all our decisions remains the same—it’s based on our core values that never change: Creekers are GENEROUS, TRUSTWORTHY, RESPECTFUL, CURIOUS, COURAGEOUS, FUN, PASSIONATE, and we demand QUALITY.
See you in another 30 years.
