Callahan Creek Creative Director Tug McTighe Leads Session at HOW Design Conference
Tug McTighe, VP & Creative Director at Callahan Creek, spoke this week at the prestigious HOW Design Conference in Denver, Colorado. The presentation was entitled “Jedi Copywriter, or Everything I Needed to Know About Advertising I Learned From Star Wars.” Held annually, the HOW Design Conference is the largest gathering of graphic designers in the U.S.
McTighe shared the stage with John January, Executive Creative Director at Sullivan Higdon & Sink, a Kansas City-based marketing communications agency. The duo spoke on behalf of their personal brand – American Copywriter. Launched in 2004, the American Copywriter podcast and blog were created to fulfill a desire to help people in the advertising, design and marketing business live “better creative lives.”
“We are thrilled to have been invited to HOW this year,” Tug said. “And to have so many people attend and like what we did, that makes it even better.”
The two self-proclaimed ‘creative Jedi’ also talked to conference attendees on a one-to-one basis in what HOW calls Speaker Office Hours.
The HOW Design Conference was launched in 1991 to provide hands-on, educational programming to assist designers with balancing creativity, business and technology. Conference sessions are designed to cover all three areas.
